Small-Scale Technology Percentage (STP)
The Clean Energy Regulator has announced today the 2020 small-scale technology percentage (STP) has been set at 24.40 %. A positive move for those within the solar industry and those looking to install solar power.
This means liable entities (generally electricity retailers) will be required to surrender approximately 42.6 million small-scale technology certificates (STCs) to meet their Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) obligations for 2020.

How Does This Impact The Solar Rebate?
Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCS) are certificates which system owners or installers can trade in exchange for an upfront discount to the cost of a solar power system, under the Federal Government Solar Rebate (officially known as the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme).
STC’s have a dollar value which can fluctuate depending on the market (supply and demand), changes in Government and other industry factors. If demand is high the value of STC’s will usually increase.
STCs are eligible for small scale renewable energy generation installations under 100kW, such as residential solar power systems.
Update: The latest published spot price from Demand Manager for STC’s is $38.8 (11/3/2020)
Renewable Power Percentage (RPP)
The renewable power percentage (RPP) has also been set today at 19.31 %. This means liable entities (generally electricity retailers) are required to surrender approximately 33.7 million large-scale generation certificates (LGCs) to meet their Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET) obligations for 2020.
LGCs are eligible for large scale renewable energy installations above 100kW (more common for commercial buildings).
