New Battery Incentives Starting on 1st November 2024 in NSW!
Live in New South Wales? From 1st November, you’ll be able to take advantage of some battery incentives through the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS). This can help you add a battery to your home, join a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and bring those power bills down!
How the Rebate Works:
If you already have solar, you can get $1,600 to $2,400 off the upfront cost of adding a battery, depending on its size.
Plus, you can snag an extra $250 to $400 just for connecting your battery to a VPP. You can claim this bonus twice, with at least three years between each claim.
Don’t have solar yet? No problem! You can still access the rebate when you install new panels and a battery system together.
How to Qualify for the Battery Rebate:
- If You Already Have Rooftop Solar: Your system needs to be installed.
- Work with an Approved Supplier: To get the incentive, you’ll need to set up your battery with a PDRS-approved provider – i.e. an installer who holds accreditation with Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA).
If this all sounds like a lot of information, don’t stress! The installers we connect you with are all SAA approved suppliers and can help determine if you’re eligible for the rebate.
The rebate will usually apply as an upfront discount that appears on your quote, so you’ll see the savings right away — much like the STC discount you get when you install solar panels.
And because each supplier offers different products and deals, you can shop around and get quotes to find the setup that works best for you.
